Samsung Electronics
The "Internet of Things," Samsung's new smart platform, connects the user with all their
gadgets, appliances, cars, and home. SUHD TV is a new flat panel technology based on
Samsung's nanocrystal technology. This creates 2.5 times brighter televisions, as well as
64 times the amount of color expression, delivering a better picture quality. Tizen, Samsung's
new operating system that powers their SmartTV, seamlessly integrates your smartphone with your television.
Hisense's ULED technology brings high dynamic range with enhanced 3D
dimming, brightness and increased contrast ratio. The wider color gamut and
quantum dots technology provides dramatically improved color enhancement
and the 4K ultra high definition allows you to enjoy your entertainment at 4x the
resolution of full HD. In addition, ULED 2.0 offers high frame frequency with smooth
motion rate, reducing motion blur.
Edwin The Duck : The World's First Interactive Rubber Ducky
The Edwin App, compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows devices,
is key to bringing Edwin's world to life. pi lab works with world-renowned
educators, musicians and cognitive specialists to make sure each child gets
the most rewarding experiences. The Edwin App is comprised of four key
areas: Story Time, Sleepy Time, Play Time and Bath Time.
Jins packed six-axis sensors, including accelerometers and gyroscopes into the ear pieces.
These sensors give the Jins Meme all the abilities of a Fitbit, but with greater accuracy, Jins says.
Since the sensors are positioned at the center of the body and the top of the spine, the Meme
can better track your movements and even your posture. Wrist-based wearables often
overestimate your activity, counting arm motions as steps. The Meme doesn't suffer from
that problem because it's in the most stable, central part of your body.
Those sensors also keep tabs on the calories you burn, and can tell if you have bad posture or balance.
Future apps could potentially use that data to correct runners' strides, predict health problems, and
improve users' posture. On top of it all, the battery should last as many as 16 hours before you need
to charge it again via Micro USB.
In addition to keeping tabs on your fitness, the Jins Meme also tracks the movement of
your eyes, thanks to electrooculography (EOG) electrodes in the bridge of the glasses
and the nose pads. These electrodes can detect blinks and every movement you
make with your eyes in as many as eight directions.
PicoBrew is the world's first automatic, all-grain, beer brewing appliance. This home
beer-brewing internet appliance allows one to create perfect craft beer at the push of a
button. The PicoBrew Zymatic® improves the precision, repeatability, and overall quality of
the beer-brewing experience.

Dr. Phil Promotes Telemedicine with "Doctor on Demand"
Doctor on Demand has some 1,400 physicians in the network and 300 mental
health pros, and charges a flat $40 for web consultation, or $50 for
25 minute sessions with psychologists. The average wait time to get
an in-person appointment with a doctor is 20 days, says Dr. Phil,
compared to 2 minutes for Doctor on Demand.
All one needs to do is sign up, fill out the same detailed medical
history checklist you'd be given at a doctor's office, pay the
$40 and detail your symptoms.
Emiota introduces Belty, the world's first smart belt. The Belty monitors your daily
tasks and adjusts your belt tightness based on how much you've eaten, sitting or
standing, or whether you're exercising. It also tracks activity via a built-in accelerometer,
which syncs with your smartphone.
Tricia Helfer, star of Syfy's "Ascension" and "Battlestar Galactica," will be
at the Ford stage Thursday to show off the Elektrobit Automotive
enhancements for in-vehicle entertainment and navigation experiences
Audi TT roadster featuring Virtual Cockpit. Where once sat a range of
physical gauges, now there's nothing but a blank 13-inch-wide screen.
Once the car starts, the screen pops to life, allowing the driver to toggle
between a variety of displays that include car information, navigation
details or infotainment choices.
Audi is performing longer-distance tests with it's driverless car.
After receiving the first California permit to put self-driving cars on
public roads last year, the company sent a prototype A7 from
San Francisco to Las Vegas (with a human behind the wheel in case
something went wrong). The car reached speeds of 70 miles per
hour, and in spite of heavy rain, made it to CES without
incident, totally under its own direction.

Polaroid Zip delivers instant prints for your smartphone snapshots
The Zip connects to your iOS or Android device via Bluetooth and using a free app, you can
take photos you shot with your phone and create small, 2x3-inch prints. The app has several
editing options like adding filters, frames, stamps and stickers, but you can also make business
cards or even make edits private so they can only be viewed by scanning a QR code printed on
the original image.
The Zip uses Polaroid's Zink zero-ink printing technology, which uses special Zink paper
embedded with cyan, yellow and magenta dye crystals. The crystals start off colorless, but
as the print is being made, heat activates the crystals changing them to the appropriate colors.
The rechargeable battery is good for up to 25 prints. A pack of 100 sheets of Zink paper runs
about $25.
The brain sensing headband is a brain fitness tool that helps you do more with your mind.
Muse is a slim, sleek headband that incorporates sensors (EEG) to sense your brain activity,
just as a heart monitor measures heart rate.

DISH Network announced that it will launch Sling TV, a live, over-the-top
television service, to customers nationwide in 2015. This internet television streaming
service will package ESPN, TBS, TNT, CNN, Disney Channel, and other networks. Priced at
$20 per month, the service will require no commitment, contract, or hardware installation.
Hatzlachh Supply Inc's Objecto presents a range of unique-looking humidifiers that use hybrid technology.
They release a fine mist into the air, that is quickly absorbed, helping to alleviate respiratory problems
caused by a dry environment. Objecto is a statement piece that combines function and attention to detail,
with unique style and design. They can also be used to release essential oils into the air.
They also offer a panel heater, that radiates smooth even heat, in a very sleek design.
Double is Double Robotics' new telepresence robot, which basically
creates a physical presence for the user either at school or work when
he or she cannot be there in person. Double is touted as the "ultimate
tool for telecommunicating" and can be remotely controlled, letting
you work from anywhere.
Mercedes unveils a self-driving, pollution-free concept car of the future. The
F 015 Luxury in Motion is a sleek four-door automobile, fully autonomous, and
produces no carbon emissions.
The car's design isn't oriented around driving, but instead, about riding in comfort:
a mobile lounge for its passengers.
Systech's new brand DTOI, Design To Innovation, is a team of designers and
engineers who aim to create anything to better everyone's life.
Their product, the Zcan Scanner Mouse, is a wireless mouse with built in
scanner which supports 199 OCR languages, the first in the market. You can scan text,
images, or to excel in seconds.
NXT-ID Inc. officially unveils the new Wocket Smart Wallet, a smart device that can
digitally store most cards in a user's wallet. It does not require smartphone or
internet connection. The Wocket works virtually anywhere credit cards are accepted,
essentially imitating a mag stripe card. It stores up to 10,000 cards, records, coupons
and other data, and only works with your biometric (voice) stamp of approval.
3D Systems is also showcasing its ChefJet series, the first professional-grade food 3D printers,
in its CES 2015 booth. The full-color ChefJet Pro will be food certified and produce edible 3D
printed candies and decor, says the company. Built from 3DS' ColorJet Printing (CJP) technology,
the ChefJet Pro features intuitive, chef-friendly Digital Cookbook software and creates intricate
candies and sweets with a variety of flavor options.
Residential lock manufacturer Kwikset revealed its extension of the Kevo platform with
Kevo Plus at CES 2015, which features the ability to enable remote access capabilities for
the Bluetooth smart lock. Kevo Plus, available this spring, establishes a direct online
connection to the Kevo app, letting users lock and unlock their doors from any location in the world.
The MOSS robots are for kids 8 and up. Combine the 16 included robot pieces and
56 steel spheres to create hundreds of robot curiosities that respond to proximity or light.
ACE Marketing Inc. provides high-tech products and valuable suppliers among the Korea
IT products to global buyers. Smart Robot Albert is a new concept learning device for children.
Smart Robot NuriAtti is a child education robot that can talk, dance and read.
WeMo Home Automation by Belkin is a growing family of innovative, easy-to-use products that
use mobile to control home electronics, power, water, and Wi-Fi right from your smartphone or tablet.
Belkin is showcasing their new line of smart home sensors, including a room motion sensor, a
keychain sensor, a window and door sensor, and an alarm sensor. In addition, they have new
tools for monitoring your home's water and power consumption.
The Spider Dress 2.0 by Dutch designer and electronic wearables artist Anouk Wipprecht is a
mechanical dress with an Intel Edison chip that blends fashion with robotics and wearable technology.
It uses biosignals and learned threat detection to defend the wearer's personal space. The dress is controlled
by proximity sensors and breathing sensors under the chest. Mechanical arms extend and retract as a response
to external stimulation and the wearer's body.
The Intel Edison is a micro-computer designed as a development system for wearable devices.
The organization is attending the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show to showcase Digital
Cookie, the new program that will enable girls to sell cookies online while learning about
business and tech. "Digital Cookie will introduce vital 21st-century lessons about online
marketing, app usage, and ecommerce to more than one million excited Girl Scouts who
will be in the driver's seat of their own Digital Cookie businesses," a Girl Scouts press
release explains.
Pono is a portable digital media player and music download service for high-quality audio.
Developed by musician Neil Young and his company PonoMusic, Pono's mission is to provide
the best possible listening experience of your favorite digital music.

Equipped with temperature sensors covered in a soft silicone, Pacif-i monitors your
child's body temperature and transmits the data using Bluetooth Smart to an Android
or iOS device. When the app determines the most accurate readings, it plots them on a
graph. It can even flag a rising fever. Parents are also able to plot when the child was given
medication, and the data can be shared with medical providers.
The app uses your phone's GPS to remember the last place the pacifier was , and once
you're within Bluetooth range, Pacif-i will begin beeping so you can locate it and appease
your crying child.

Ford announces Smart Mobility plan, along with 25 global experiments

Ford introduced SYNC 3, the next generation of voice activated technology,
enabling apps in their vehicles. This next generation is faster, more intuitive,
and simpler to use.
Sensoria Is A New Smart Sock That Coaches Runners In Real Time
The socks are designed like an electronic board, except instead of wires,
they're fabricated with conductive fibers to transfer the signals from the sensors to the anklet.
The sock tells you how you've been running, giving you a clearer insight to your running style
and warning you if you're running outside of your preset parameters.
The anklet also contains an accelerometer, measuring across the three axes to provide
additional tracking data. The usual tracking parameters, such as calories burnt and pace,
are also included within the app.

Gary Shapiro is president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the

The many highlights of Gary's career include guiding the industry in its successful transition
to HDTV and leading the home recording manufacturers' battle to preserve the legality
of recording technology. Gary has testified before Congress on technology and business
issues more than 20 times.
BMW's i3 and i8: Cars That Will Change Driving Forever
The company challenged CES attendees to crash an i3 equipped with BMW's ActiveAssist
collision avoidance system dotted with concealed external laser sensors.
Unlike traditional ultrasonic parking sensors, the ActiveAssist system pinpoints obstacles
and collision risks and makes the car react accordingly.
Inductive charging re-energizes an EV's battery with a magnetic field rather than a wire
from car to power source. It's achieved by fitting a primary coil in a floor-plate over which
a car can park and a secondary coil on the underside of the car itself. An alternating magnetic
field is generated between the two coils, which creates electricity that is then sent to the
BMW's on-board battery.
At a charge rate of 3.3 kW, the battery of a BMW i8 can be charged in under two hours,
which is about the same amount of time as it takes the current wired recharger. Down the
line, a 7kW rate will be able to charge the larger batteries of an all-electric vehicle, like the
i3, overnight.
LG has long been a leader in OLED televisions, and are now the first to
introduce OLED Ultra High Definition.LG OLED UltraHD boasts a perfect, true black level, setting
them apart fromother televisions with contrast and brighter colors. They also have a very fast
response time, creating blur-free, crystal clear motion. Consistent color from every angle, even at 180 degrees.
At CES 2015, Sharp unveils breakthrough 'Beyond 4K'. It uses Sharp's unique
four color panel systems and a pixel splitting technology to go beyond 4K and
approach nearly 8K performance. Sharp also highlights their Super Slim 4K UltraHD
LED TV, which has a depth of less than half an inch and offers a distinctive and novel
design, paired with 4K Ultra HD picture quality. Also on display, Sharp's Free Form and
Wraparound LCD Display.
The new ultra slim 4K TV, the Sony Bravia X900C, measures only 4.9 millimeters.
Despite its narrow frame, the X900C boasts sharper contrast and a more vivid
picture than its 4K competitors.
This year, Sony has introduced AndroidTV throughout its 4K lineup. This allows
the television to take advantage of smartphone capabilities -- voice search,
music, photos, movies, games, and apps. Also, the new 4K X1 processor analyzes
the bandwidth of incoming 4K content, upscaling when needed to display better picture.
Garmin Unveils New Vivoactive and Fenix 3 Smartwatches
The Fenix 3 is the next generation in Garmin's multisport GPS watch category.
With its built-in GPS, 100m water resistance and onboard barometer and
altimeter sensors, the Fenix 3 supports a wide variety of outdoor and fitness
sports, including swimming, biking, skiing and snowboarding.
The Vivoactive is focused on the fitness enthusiast with a sunlight-readable
color display, GPS activity tracking, smartphone notifications and support
for wireless sensors such as heart rate monitors. The watch also features
an interchangeable band as well as app and widget support via Garmin's
Connect IQ store.
