Robert Schwartz, Account Executive, Washington Correspondent of D S Simon Productions, spoke with Carlos Delgado. former MLB player and founder of Extra Bases, a nonprofit foundation for island youth, about how he enacts social media to promote his message.
“When you’re not on TV all the time it’s a little harder to sell so we embrace a concept of social media. We started tweeting a little more and we started using Facebook a little more in order to spread our message. We want to let people know what we’re doing and let people understand that there is a lot of need out there.”
“People like more trendy and controversial stuff so that’s why I use two accounts. My personal one is where I can write pretty much what I want and sometimes I can create a little buzz and redirect people to the foundation.”
