Meet Our Leadership Team
Doug Simon is the CEO of the award-winning company D S Simon Media. His firm helps clients get their stories on television, through satellite media tours and by producing and distributing video content to the media. It also provides video production services and produces virtual press conferences.
Doug has grown D S Simon Media from a start-up, self-funded with $2,000 from his father’s life insurance policy to a multi-million-dollar company that is an industry leader in the field. He has pioneered multiple new services during his career, generated more than $135 million in revenue and earned more than 100 industry awards.
Clients include top brands in healthcare, technology, travel, financial services, consumer goods, entertainment, retail, non-profits and others. The firm boasts repeat business from 95% of its clients and has a strong employee retention record with average service of nine years. It’s leadership team averages more than 14 years with the company.
Doug is a frequent public speaker at industry events and has testified in the US Senate as an expert witness on issues affecting public relations. He’s held leadership positions at numerous industry groups. Doug is also the host of the award-winning “PR’s Top Pro’s Talk…” video and podcast series his firm initially created to provide advice to communicators as to how to navigate the COVID pandemic from a communications perspective. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Doug began his broadcast career at NBC Sports, where he served as Talent Assistant to Bob Costas. He’s married with two adult children.
Mike Bako serves as VP of Media and Content Strategy and has over 11 years of progressive executive and producing experience at D S Simon Media.
He has a demonstrated record of strategizing, planning, and deploying 400+ high-impact media tours and live productions over his career at the company. Mike’s talents allow for a seamless execution of projects for iconic clients across pharma, health, sports, entertainment, food and beverage, hospitality, and financial services. Laser-focused on driving ROI and boosting brand awareness, affinity, and engagement over his career working with clients like Netflix, PayPal, Spotify, W Hotels, Westin, Hearst, Bud Light, Sundance Film Festival, Shriners Hospitals for Children, NFL, Nintendo, Fidelity Investments, and the U.S. Army.
Michael Farr is SVP/Managing Director of Production and is in his 12th year at D S Simon Media. With 20-plus years of managing and producing award-winning productions for leading entertainment, corporate, consumer, and non-profit clients, Michael brings a wealth of experience, creativity, and production expertise to all of our projects. Using the latest cutting-edge innovations in production and transmission technologies, Michael manages our state-of-the-art NYC-based studio production facility. He produces on-location SMTs, live streaming events, and video production projects, as well as oversees partnerships with our worldwide network of broadcast facilities and production professionals
A University of Miami, FL (aka The “U”) School of Film and Television grad, Michael is also an alumni of NBC’s Page Program, Directed the Acting for Camera classes for NY’s Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, and produced and directed over 100 live concerts for artists ranging from Elton John and Mick Jagger to Prince, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, and other major artists Michael also spent 5 years in Sweden producing commercials, game shows, and documentaries, for Swedish broadcasters.
Be it Red Carpet events, such as The Grammys, Entertainment/ Corporate press conferences/announcements, launches of major film/book releases, grand openings of iconic venues (Whitney Museum, Museum of Civil Rights, FAO Schwarz Flagship In Rockefeller Center), capturing content from high profile conventions (CES, E3), B Roll packages (Guinness World Records, Macy’s Parade/4th of July Fireworks) for special events, live streaming to worldwide audiences, or SMT’s from unique locations how about the middle of a working dairy farm full of cows?), Michael has a diverse background in providing gold standard content for both domestic and international broadcasters as well as PR-driven initiatives.
As Vice President of Client Services, Elizabeth Rosenberger manages client communications and negotiations, provides senior level client support, and fosters client relationships. In her leadership role, Elizabeth enhances the strength of D S Simon Media’s client base as well as acts as a liaison between the sales, marketing, and production teamsElizabeth has been with the company for over 7 years. Growing from a support role, she quickly built herself up to executive level by building out an extensive book of business and client portfolio. Most notably, she spearheads saturation broadcast campaigns and produces results for niche growth industries. Highly motivated by client retention and satisfaction, she has contributed to record revenue, and led new business goals. Elizabeth has grown the company’s presence in many markets including health and wellness, travel, non-profits, and top PR agencies.
Elizabeth holds a BA in English Literature from Manhattan College where she ran competitively and was captain of both her Cross Country and Track and Field teams. A mom to a tenacious toddler, a golden retriever and yellow labrador, Elizabeth lives an active lifestyle where she loves going to the beach, dancing, and volunteering at the Guide Dog Foundation.
Lauren Campbell currently serves in the role of General Manager at D S Simon Media. Lauren has been with the company over 17 years and works very closely with our CEO, Doug Simon. In her role as General Manager, she helps oversee business operations as well as human resources, finance and hiring. Her leadership skills and ability to collaborate cross departmentally make her a go to resource for internal staff.
Prior to D S Simon Media, Lauren was an Office Manager and Accounts Payable specialist at an engineering firm in NJ.
Since joining D S Simon Media as Director of Business Development in 1999 to his current role as Executive Vice President, Eric Wright has helped grow the company’s presence in many markets, including health & wellness, associations & foundations, food & beverage, retail & consumer products, travel & tourism, technology, and entertainment.
Eric has become an industry leader through his in-depth knowledge of both the broadcast media and PR landscapes. Throughout his tenure, he’s helped PR agencies, corporations, associations, and non-profits navigate changes in FTC regulations, media consumption, economic conditions, and production techniques while also mentoring younger staff to grow into larger contributing roles within the company. As part of his position, he uses his industry knowledge and connections to identify and target key thought leaders to be featured in PR’s Top Pros Talk, the company’s online video series it produces in conjunction with one of the leading PR trade publications, O’Dwyer’s. Also during his tenure at D S Simon, he has been involved in projects that have won several PRSA Silver Anvil and PRSA-NY Big Apple awards.
Outside of D S Simon Media, Eric has served the industry as a Vice President of the Publicity Club of New York (PCNY) for the past 15 years, after serving for five years on its board of directors. Additionally, he is one of the founding members of the Entertainment Publicists Professional Society’s (EPPS) New York Chapter.
Eric’s career in broadcasting started at Home Team Sports, a regional sports cable station in Bethesda, MD after graduating from the American University. While at North American Network (NAN), a radio media relations agency headquartered in Bethesda, MD, he spearheaded the company’s expansion to New York in 1995. Other roles include freelance video editor positions for NewSport, a national cable sports channel, and News 12 Long Island, a regional cable news channel covering all of Long Island
Eric currently lives in Bloomfield, NJ with his wife and two sons. In addition to rooting for the Tennessee Titans, he is an avid music lover and volunteers for the Bloomfield Soccer Club as head coach of his sons’ soccer teams.
